Local Community and School Visit
This special visit to the local school and community is a rewarding experience for all involved. During your time there, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with teaching staff and students and present them with a care package of school supplies they’ve requested.

Activity Level: Active. Enjoy breathtaking sights, one-of-a-kind adventures and a luxury safari near Kruger National Park on this 15-day solo tour through South Africa.
Day 1
Depart for your overnight flight from Toronto or Winnipeg to Cape Town.
Day 2
Cape Town – Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to the hotel. (S)
Day 3
Cape Town – Visit Cape Town’s lively Bo-Kaap neighbourhood and take a tram ride up Table Mountain for stunning views. Tonight enjoy your welcome dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 4
Cape Town – Tour Cape Peninsula and take a funicular at Cape Point for panoramic views. Later, see penguins at Boulder Beach. (B/L/D)
Day 5
Cape Town – Visit Franschhoek and Stellenbosch for a winelands tour and tasting. (B/T/L/D)
Day 6
Oudtshoorn – Travel to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. (B/D)
Day 7
Knysna – Visit the Cango Caves and an ostrich farm before arriving in Knysna. (B/L/D)
Day 8
Knysna – Visit Featherbed Nature Reserve. Take a ferry to the Western Head, followed by a guided vehicle tour. (B/L/D)
Day 9
Johannesburg – Drive to Tsitsikamma National Park and depart to Johannesburg. (B/D)
Day 10
Karongwe Private Game Reserve – Enjoy a scenic drive towards Kruger National Park area for your safari stay. Arrive in time for a sundowner game drive. (B/D)
Day 11
Karongwe Private Game Reserve – Take an early morning game drive before your Extraordinary Experience: a visit to the local community and school. Arrive back in time for an evening game drive. (B/L/D)
Day 12
Karongwe Private Game Reserve – Two game drives are offered today, including a sunset game drive. Enjoy a potjie cooking competition before a campfire boma dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 13
Johannesburg – After an early morning game drive, return to Johannesburg. This evening, enjoy your farewell dinner. (B/D)
Day 14
Johannesburg – Explore Johannesburg on a city tour. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B/L)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Arrive in Cape Town. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel. Refreshments will be available in your room.(S)
Day 3
Cape Town
Today, explore Cape Town on a city tour. Highlights include a photo stop in the lively Bo-Kaap neighborhood and visits to the Castle of Good Hope and Company’s Garden. Afterward, take a tram ride up Table Mountain and experience stunning views. Spend the rest of your afternoon at leisure before an interactive drumming session and your welcome dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 4
Cape Town
Embark on a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula, where you’ll visit Clifton, Camps Bay and Llandudno. Explore Hout Bay and marvel at the breathtaking views along Chapman's Peak Drive. Reach Cape Point, where you can take a funicular to the top for a panoramic experience. In the afternoon, make your way to Boulder Beach to see the penguin colony. (B/L/D)
Day 5
Cape Town
Today, visit Franschhoek for a winelands tour. Drive through the picturesque town and look out for the wine train. Enjoy a tasting before continuing to Stellenbosch for another winery visit and orientation tour. (B/T/L/D)
Day 6
Oudtshoorn
Travel to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich capital of the world. Keep an eye out for baboons or ostriches along the way. (B/D)
Day 7
Knysna
Explore the Cango Caves before heading to Knysna. These magnificent caves are some of Africa's largest and among South Africa's many natural wonders. Then, visit an ostrich farm followed by lunch. (B/L/D)
Day 8
Knysna
Today, visit Featherbed Nature Reserve for a one-of-a-kind eco experience. Take a ferry across the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head, followed by a guided 4X4 vehicle tour with stops to appreciate the spectacular views. Enjoy lunch set under a canopy of Milkwood trees. (B/L/D)
Day 9
Johannesburg
After breakfast, drive to Tsitsikamma National Park (Storms River Mouth) and then continue to Port Elizabeth Airport for your departure to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, meet your local guide to transfer to the hotel. (B/D)
Day 10
Karongwe Private Game Reserve
After breakfast, begin the panoramic route towards Kruger National Park. Visit Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and Three Rondavels along the way. Arrive at the Chisomo Safari Camp and settle into your luxurious tented safari suite. Enjoy the lodge's amenities, including a bar, lounge and a pool offering views of the nearby watering hole, where you might spot elephants, zebras and buffalos. (B/D)
Day 11
Karongwe Private Game Reserve
While staying at the safari lodge, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy two half-day game drives daily. If there’s sufficient interest from your group, the guides can also arrange a walking safari onsite. Today, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience: a visit to the local community and school. During this visit, you’ll have the chance to meet with the staff and students and present them with a care package of the school supplies they’ve requested. (B/L/D)
Day 12
Karongwe Private Game Reserve
Two game drives are offered today, including a sunset game drive. At the lodge, enjoy a potjie cooking competition before a boma dinner around the campfire. (B/L/D)
Day 13
Johannesburg
After breakfast at Look-out Point, the warden will give an informative talk on the reserve’s anti-poaching campaign. Later, make your way back to Johannesburg and spend your afternoon at leisure before your farewell dinner. (B/D)
Day 14
Johannesburg
Begin the day with a Johannesburg city tour which includes Soweto, Kliptown Open Air Museum, the Hector Pieterson Memorial, a photo stop at Mandela House and Regina Mundi Church. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B/L)
Day 15
Return home to Toronto or Winnipeg.
