Fans of the saga will be swept away by this 12-day tour of dramatic landscapes, magnificent estates and historic castles. Start in Edinburgh, where you’ll see panoramic views from Edinburgh Castle and visit Holyrood Palace, where characters Jamie and Claire resided in the palace with Bonnie Prince Charlie. The magic continues in Inverness, taste whisky at Deanston Distillery, known as Jared’s Wine Warehouse, and see the scenic Great Glen. Return to Edinburgh for more experiences, such as a visit to Midhope Castle, the location of the exterior of ‘Lallybroch’, Jamie’s family home. This is a memorable tour like no other.

Swept Away by Outlander in Scotland
Activity Level: Active. Walk in Jamie and Claire’s footsteps during this Outlander-themed Scotland adventure, which stops at some of the show’s most famous filming locations.
Day 1
Depart Toronto or Winnipeg for your overnight flight to Edinburgh.
Day 2
Edinburgh – Arrive in Edinburgh and explore Edinburgh Castle before lunch. Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening. (L/D)
Day 3
Edinburgh – Meet your guide for an afternoon walking tour of Edinburgh. Discover historical sites associated with the Jacobite revolution, as well as filming locations like Bakehouse Close. (B/D)
Day 4
Edinburgh – Visit historic and film sites like Craigmillar Castle, Glencorse Old Kirk and Holyrood Palace. (B/D)
Day 5
Inverness – Explore Doune Castle, the filming location for Castle Leoch. Later, head towards the Highlands with a stop in Deanston Distillery for a tour and a tasting. See the Great Glen, Invermoriston stone circle and Urquhart Castle. (B/T/D)
Day 6
Inverness – Explore the Wardlaw Mausoleum and Beauly Priory. Visit Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last stand of the Highlanders and the ultimate end of the Jacobite Uprising. (B)
Day 7
Inverness – Take a morning walking tour of Inverness. In the evening, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience, dinner with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh. (B/D)
Day 8
Edinburgh – On route to Edinburgh, stop to tour the Highland Folk Museum. Later, enjoy afternoon tea at the Dunkeld House Hotel. (B/L)
Day 9
Edinburgh – Explore Falkland and Culross, a village used for a large number of filming locations. Don’t miss Culross Palace, the location where several pivotal scenes were filmed. (B/L)
Day 10
Edinburgh –Visit Midhope Castle and Blackness Castle. In the afternoon, explore Linlithgow Palace, which served as the location of Wentworth Prison. Spend the rest of your day in Edinburgh at leisure. (B)
Day 11
Edinburgh – Explore Edinburgh at leisure and end your evening with a farewell dinner. (B/D)
Day 12
Edinburgh – After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. Day 2
Edinburgh
Arrive in Edinburgh and meet your local tour guide. Explore Edinburgh Castle, a prominent fortress overlooking the capital city. The castle's grandeur and historical significance have made it an internationally renowned symbol of Scotland. Enjoy lunch before checking into your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening. Edinburgh
Spend your morning at leisure before meeting your guide for an afternoon walking tour of Edinburgh. Explore the city and discover historical sites associated with the Jacobite revolution, as well as filming locations like Bakehouse Close, which served as Carfax Close (the setting for A. Malcolm's Print Shop, where Claire and Jamie reunite after twenty years), and Tweeddale Court (the location of the Edinburgh Market where Claire is reunited with Fergus in season 3). (B/D)

Edinburgh
Today, explore historic and film sites. First, visit Craigmillar Castle, the filming location of Ardsmuir Prison where Jamie and other Jacobite Highlanders are held in season 3. Afterwards, visit Glencorse Old Kirk, where Claire and Jamie were married. In the afternoon, visit Holyrood Palace. While not a filming location, it is where Claire and Jamie live with Bonnie Prince Charlie in the Dragonfly in Amber book. It’s also the official royal residence, so there’s plenty of history to delve into as you tour the halls. (B/D)
Day 5
Inverness
Enjoy breakfast and explore Doune Castle, the filming location for Castle Leoch, the seat of Clan MacKenzie. After lunch, head towards the Highlands with a stop in Deanston Distillery for a tour and a tasting. In season 2, this distillery served as Jarred's Wine Warehouse in Le Havre. Continue north and enjoy the Highland scenery of the Great Glen, which is featured in the opening credits of Outlander. Learn about the Glencoe history and drive along the shore of Loch Ness. Finally, make your way to Inverness, with stops at Invermoriston stone circle and Urquhart Castle along the way. (B/T/D)

Inverness
Today, discover the history of the Fraser family. Explore the Wardlaw Mausoleum, the ancestral burial site of Simon Fraser. Next, visit the Beauly Priory, the place where Claire encounters the seer Maisri. Continue to Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last stand of the Highlanders and the ultimate end of the Jacobite Uprising. Spend the rest of your evening at leisure. (B)

Inverness
Enjoy a morning walking tour of Inverness with a focus on the Jacobean Uprising. In the evening, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience, dinner with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh. (B/D)
Day 8
Edinburgh
In the morning, transfer to Edinburgh. On the way, tour the Highland Folk Museum. This museum recreates the living and working conditions of earlier Highland peoples. The Highland Folk Museum served as a filming location for the episode 'Rent' in season one. Later, enjoy afternoon tea at the Dunkeld House Hotel. The woodlands surrounding the hotel doubled as the North Carolina wilderness where Jamie, Claire and Young Ian set off in search of Roger when he was sold to the Mohawk. Continue to Edinburgh and spend your evening at leisure. (B/L)

Edinburgh
Visit the countryside to discover more filming sites and history. Explore the small, picturesque village of Falkland, used as 1940’s Inverness. Visit Culross, a village used for a large number of filming locations, including Cranesmuir, the village near Castle Leoch. Marvel at the Mercat Cross square and the Study House, where Geillis resides. Take a 10-minute walk from the village to the West Kirk, and don't miss Culross Palace, the location where several pivotal scenes were filmed. (B/L)
Day 10
Edinburgh
Today, stop at Midhope Castle, also known as Jamie's family home, Lallybroch. Next, visit Blackness Castle, the location where Jamie receives lashes in season 1. It is also where Jamie rescues Claire when she is being held prisoner by Black Jack Randall. In the afternoon, visit Linlithgow Palace, which served as the location of Wentworth Prison. Spend the rest of your day in Edinburgh at leisure. (B)

Explore Edinburgh at leisure and end your evening with a farewell dinner. (B/D)
