Experience the rich history and striking beauty of Canada’s north on this exhilarating four-day adventure in Manitoba. You’ll start in Winnipeg, where you’ll tour the Winnipeg Art Gallery, home to over 24,000 works. There, stop by the brand-new Inuit Art Centre, Qaumajuq, the largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art in the world. You’ll also visit the Visible Vault, a marvelous collection of over 5,000 Inuit stone carvings. Move north to Churchill, a tundra town on Hudson Bay best known for its polar bear population. Here, explore significant sites, like the Miss Piggy plane wreck, before enjoying a thrilling dog sled ride. On your last day, join an expert-guided Tundra Buggy® expedition to search for polar bears, arctic foxes and more majestic subarctic wildlife.

Classic Polar Bear Encounter
Activity Level: Moderate. Get up close and personal with Canada’s rich history and striking tundra landscape on this subarctic polar bear expedition.
Day 1
Day 2
Churchill − After breakfast, depart on an early morning flight from Winnipeg to Churchill. When you arrive in this tundra town, set out for a guided tour of Churchill and its surrounding area. Have your camera ready for many photo opportunities as you learn about local and historical points of interest such as the Miss Piggy plane wreck, Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility and the Inukshuk at Town Beach. Later, venture out for your afternoon dog sledding adventure. Experience an exhilarating expert-led ride behind a team of sled dogs on a custom-made sled (or cart, weather permitting). (B/L/D)
Day 3
Churchill − After an early-morning breakfast, depart for a full-day Tundra Buggy® adventure, where you’ll explore the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (CWMA) in search of polar bears, arctic fox, ptarmigan and other subarctic wildlife. You’ll be accompanied by a Polar Bears International species expert, who’ll lead a discussion on polar bears and their habitat. After a day exploring the tundra, transfer to the Churchill Airport for your evening flight back to Winnipeg. Overnight in Winnipeg. (B/L/D)

With your camera full of unforgettable memories of your Arctic adventures, transfer to the Winnipeg Airport for your flight home. (B)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Winnipeg
Depart Toronto for your flight to Winnipeg and check in to your hotel. This evening, enjoy a guided tour of Qaumajuq, the 36,000-square-foot addition to the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG). Qaumajuq is a monument to Inuit culture, and houses the world’s largest public collection of Inuit art. Visit the Visible Vault, a powerful part of your Qaumajuq experience. Following the tour, enjoy a three-course dinner. (D)
