Hear about the tumultuous history of the Acadians, who were among the first settlers of Nova Scotia. You’ll also hear about Grand-Pré’s recent UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. Next, visit Grand-Pré Winery, one of Atlantic Canada’s premier wineries, before heading to Luckett’s Winery, another fine winery in the Annapolis Valley. While at Luckett’s, be sure to take in the stunning views overlooking the Minas Basin. Continue on to Halls Harbour, a quaint fishing village on the Bay of Fundy, and have lunch. Travel to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most picturesque fishing villages along the Eastern seaboard. Witness the crashing surf and see the world-famous lighthouse perched on top of a rocky bluff. Later, head to the equally charming Mahone Bay and stop to take a photograph of one of Nova Scotia’s most iconic cultural scenes: the trinity of 19th century-built churches. This is a true eco-lodge, where you’ll enjoy canoeing and kayaking, expert-guided stargazing, geo-tours, forest bathing, cooking classes and more.
