This 17-day adventure across the British Isles begins with three immersive nights in Oxford to visit storybook villages in the Cotswolds, step inside Christ Church College and enjoy exclusive access to Blenheim Palace’s private apartments. From Stonehenge, continue to Southampton to embark on a 12-night cruise aboard the Majestic Princess®. Trace the coastlines of England, Ireland and Scotland, calling at Falmouth, Cork, Liverpool, Belfast and Glasgow. Venture north to the Orkney Islands and the Scottish Highlands, then sail onward to Edinburgh and across the Channel to Le Havre for a taste of Paris and Normandy. Return to Southampton and London with a deeper appreciation for the landscapes, legends and layered history of the British Isles.

Blenheim Palace: Duke’s Tour

Activity Level: Moderate. Sail and explore the British Isles on a 17-day journey that takes you across England, Ireland, Scotland and France’s iconic ports and landscapes.
Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight from Toronto or Winnipeg to London.
Day 2
Oxford – Upon arrival, meet your tour director and transfer to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The rest of your day is at leisure before your welcome dinner. (D)
Day 3
Oxford – Begin your day exploring the Cotswolds, a unique region featuring ancient limestone villages, charming stone churches and thatched-roof cottages that seem untouched for over 300 years. Stops include Bilbury, a picturesque village showcasing the area's charming character, and Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds and known for its traditional architecture. This afternoon, visit Christ Church College at the University of Oxford, celebrated for its ties to Harry Potter and Lewis Carroll. End the day with dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)
Day 4
Oxford – Visit the pretty village of Bampton in Oxfordshire, the setting for the exterior village scenes in the TV show Downton Abbey. This afternoon, you’ll visit Blenheim Palace for the Duke’s Tour. Step inside the Palace’s Private Apartments and historic kitchens to explore royal bedrooms, priceless art and hidden treasures while uncovering secrets of life upstairs and downstairs. (B)

Southampton – After breakfast, journey to the mysterious Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. As you approach the breathtaking formation of towering stones, you’ll be filled with wonder at their 5,000-year history. Continue to Southampton to board the Majestic Princess® 12–night British Isles Cruise. (B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. Deposit is non-refundable at the time of booking. Final payment is due 120 days before departure. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. CAA Travel service fee for cancellation prior to final payment varies by program. For full payment terms and conditions, please ask your CAA Travel Consultant. CAA Travel reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (minimum number of participants) or circumstances beyond its control. Additional fees for checked luggage or other incidentals may be incurred and vary according to itinerary and airline. Air schedules with some tours are not available at press time and may include several connections or forced overnight at passenger’s expense. CAA Travel strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation and emergency travel and emergency medical insurance at the time of booking.
Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.
