Traditional Espadrille Workshop
Spend time in a traditional Barcelona workshop to learn the art of espadrille-making, a craft deeply rooted in Spanish culture. Guided by skilled artisans, you’ll create your own pair from start to finish, choosing the base, laces and style before stitching them together by hand. Along the way, discover the techniques behind this timeless footwear and how to lace them in different ways. When you’re finished, you’ll leave with a personalized pair and a meaningful reminder of your time in Spain.

Day 1
Depart from Toronto or Winnipeg on your overnight flight to Barcelona.
Day 2
Barcelona – Upon arrival in Barcelona, meet your tour guide and transfer by private coach to your hotel to check in. The afternoon and evening are yours to settle in and relax or head out to begin exploring the city’s vibrant streets and lively atmosphere.
Day 3
Barcelona – Start your day with a panoramic tour of Barcelona, taking in the city’s iconic sights and distinctive neighbourhoods. The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace. In the evening, gather for a festive welcome experience featuring a traditional flamenco show paired with dinner. (B/D)
Day 4
Barcelona – A relaxed morning offers time to unwind before joining a guided tapas tour in the afternoon. Sample local flavours while learning about Barcelona’s culinary traditions. The evening is free to continue exploring. (B/L)
Day 5
Barcelona – The day is yours until late afternoon to explore Barcelona as you wish—perhaps browsing boutiques, visiting a museum or relaxing on a café terrace. Later, join a hands-on cooking class led by local chefs and prepare a four-course Spanish meal before sitting down together to savour the dishes you’ve created. Printed recipes are provided so you can recreate the experience at home. (B/D)
Day 6
Barcelona – Free time this morning invites you to discover more of Barcelona—perhaps visiting Park Güell, strolling Passeig de Gràcia or browsing a local market. In the afternoon, your Extraordinary Experience begins with an espadrille-making class, where skilled artisans guide you in creating your own pair of these iconic shoes. The evening is at leisure, whether enjoying a sunset by the beach or exploring the city’s lively neighbourhoods. (B/S)
Day 7
Barcelona – Today is yours to make the most of Barcelona. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your time together with great food and warm company. (B/D)
Day 8
After breakfast, take in a few final moments in Barcelona before your transfer to the airport. (B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. Deposit is non-refundable at the time of booking. Final payment is due 120 days before departure. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. CAA Travel service fee for cancellation prior to final payment varies by program. For full payment terms and conditions, please ask your CAA Travel Consultant. CAA Travel reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (minimum number of participants) or circumstances beyond its control. Additional fees for checked luggage or other incidentals may be incurred and vary according to itinerary and airline. Air schedules with some tours are not available at press time and may include several connections or forced overnight at passenger’s expense. CAA Travel strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation and emergency travel and emergency medical insurance at the time of booking.
Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

The day is yours until late afternoon to explore Barcelona as you wish— perhaps browsing boutiques, visiting a museum or relaxing on a café terrace. Later, you’ll join an engaging hands‑on cooking class led by local chefs who will guide you through preparing a four‑course Spanish meal. Once the dishes are complete, you’ll sit down together to enjoy the full menu paired with excellent local wines. Printed recipes are provided so you can recreate everything at home. It’s the perfect introduction to authentic Spanish culinary traditions and techniques. (B/D)

Free time this morning invites you to discover Barcelona—perhaps a visit to Park Güell for sweeping city views, exploring the modernist architecture along Passeig de Gràcia, taking a relaxing walk through Ciutadella Park or stopping by a local market to sample fresh produce and pastries. In the afternoon, your Extraordinary Experience begins with an Espadrille‑making class, where skilled artisans guide you through crafting your own pair of these iconic Spanish shoes. When finished, you’ll leave with your very own personalized creation and a unique story. Your evening is at leisure, with options such as enjoying a sunset drink by the beach, exploring Gaudí’s masterpieces and wandering through El Born’s charming streets. (B/S)

Barcelona
The morning and afternoon is at leisure so you can enjoy Barcelona on your own, whether that means visiting the Picasso Museum, exploring the peaceful gardens of Montjuïc, taking a scenic harbour cruise or visiting neighbourhood cafés. In the evening, the group will come together for a memorable farewell dinner. (B/D)
