This 12-day West Coast and Alaska trip brings together time on land with a week at sea. Begin in Victoria with guided touring, a visit to the Royal BC Museum and a chocolate and bakery experience that highlights the city’s local makers. Take in the scale and beauty of Butchart Gardens before crossing to Vancouver. Then step aboard Emerald Princess® for a 7-day cruise through the Inside Passage, visiting Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan along the way. Between ports, watch for wildlife, glaciers and the shifting coastline. It’s a journey that moves from small, local moments to vast, open landscapes, leaving you with memories that will never fade.

Dive deep into Victoria’s impressive waterfront, gardens and food scene, then follow Alaska’s coastline on a 7-day Inside Passage cruise.
Day 1
Victoria – Depart from Toronto or Winnipeg for Victoria. On arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy time to explore on your own before gathering this evening for a delicious group welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2
Victoria – Set out on a sightseeing tour of Victoria, taking in highlights including the Empress Hotel, Inner Harbour, Parliament Buildings, Beacon Hill Park, Thunderbird Park and Mile 0 of the Trans-Canada Highway. After time at leisure, continue to the Royal BC Museum, where immersive exhibits share British Columbia’s natural and cultural history, including its Indigenous heritage. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy. (B)
Day 3
Victoria – Enjoy your Extraordinary Experience, a private chocolate & bakery walking tour. Visit local favourites, sample artisanal chocolates and pastries and learn about Victoria’s historic downtown. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site featuring the Sunken, Japanese, Italian and Rose gardens. Return to the hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. (B/T/L)

Vancouver – Check out and travel by coach to the ferry terminal at Swartz Bay. Board the BC Ferry for a scenic 90-minute crossing through the Gulf Islands to Tsawwassen, with views of coastal landscapes and surrounding islands. Continue to your hotel in Vancouver. Remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

Vancouver – Start the day with breakfast, then choose to relax or explore downtown Vancouver before transferring to the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal to embark on your Alaskan Cruise onboard Princess Cruises’ Emerald Princess®. (B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. Deposit is non-refundable at the time of booking. Final payment is due 120 days before departure. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Today, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience, a private chocolate & bakery walking tour. Visit local favourites and sample artisanal chocolates and freshly baked pastries while learning about the character and history of Victoria’s downtown. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site known for its beautifully designed themed gardens, including the Sunken, Japanese, Italian and Rose gardens. Return to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure. (B/T/L)
