Discover the Yukon through its wide-open landscapes, rich history and memorable local experiences on this 8-day adventure in northwest Canada. Begin in Whitehorse with time to settle in, then explore the Southern Lakes District, including the striking waters of Emerald Lake. Continue into Kluane National Park for mountain views, wildlife sightings and insight into one of Canada’s most remarkable areas. Travel the North Klondike Highway to Dawson City, where Gold Rush stories come to life through cultural visits, historic sites and hands-on gold panning. Take in sweeping views from the Midnight Dome and enjoy an evening at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s. Return to Whitehorse for a final night, closing out the journey with a clearer sense of what makes the Yukon so unique.

Pan for Gold in Historic Yukon
Your visit to Bonanza Creek offers one of the most memorable moments of your Yukon adventure. Standing along the very waters that sparked the Klondike Gold Rush, you’ll step into the shoes of the early prospectors as you swirl your pan through the gravel in search of glittering treasure. Local experts will teach you the techniques that once drew thousands of hopeful dreamers north, and as flecks of real gold begin to appear in your pan, you’ll experience the same thrill that fueled the rush more than a century ago. Day 1
Whitehorse – Fly from Toronto or Winnipeg to Whitehorse, Yukon, where you are greeted and transferred to your hotel to settle in.
Day 2
Whitehorse – After breakfast, enjoy a scenic day exploring the Southern Lakes District of the Yukon, including the striking turquoise waters of Emerald Lake. After lunch, return to Whitehorse with the afternoon at leisure. This evening, join the group for your welcome dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 3
Whitehorse – Travel into Kluane National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the Klondike Gold Rush and watch for wildlife such as bears and deer. Visit the Kluane National Park and Reserve Visitor Centre, then enjoy time to take in the mountain scenery before returning to Whitehorse for dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 4
Dawson City – Journey along the North Klondike Highway with sweeping wilderness views en route to Dawson City, including a stop for lunch. On arrival, check in and enjoy the evening at your leisure. (B)
Day 5
Dawson City – Visit the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre to learn about the Klondike’s First Nations history and culture. Enjoy free time before a guided Gold Rush experience, visiting active mining sites and learning traditional gold panning techniques at Bonanza Creek, where you can keep what you find as a souvenir. Dinner includes the Sourtoe Cocktail experience. (B/D)
Day 6
Dawson City – Discover Dawson City’s Gold Rush past on a guided tour, including Jack London’s cabin, the Discovery Claim and Dredge No. 4. Take in views from the Midnight Dome. In the evening, visit Diamond Tooth Gertie’s for a Can-Can show and casino experience. (B/D)
Day 7
Whitehorse – Fly back to Whitehorse and transfer to your hotel for your final night. This evening, gather for a farewell dinner and reflect on your time in the Yukon. (B/D)
Day 8
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. Day 3
Whitehorse
Today takes you deep into the wild beauty of Kluane National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route, learn about the Klondike Gold Rush while keeping an eye out for wildlife such as bears and deer. In Haines Junction, pay a visit to the Kluane National Park and Reserve Visitor Centre, a stunning, world-class building dedicated to artifacts, art and digital displays about the area. After learning about the park and the largest non-polar ice field within it, take time to enjoy the serene view of the park’s gorgeous mountains. Return to Whitehorse and enjoy dinner with the group. Dawson City
After breakfast, check out and board your coach to travel along the historic North Klondike Highway, taking in sweeping wilderness views en route to Dawson City. Stop for lunch before continuing north. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)
Day 5
Dawson City
This morning, visit the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre to learn about the history and culture of the Klondike’s First Nations. You'll then have some free time to explore Dawson City at your own pace. In the afternoon, step into the heart of the Klondike for an immersive gold rush experience blending history and modern-day mining. This guided tour includes active mining sites to show how gold is extracted today, as well as traditional Klondike gold panning techniques. Finish by panning for your own gold, which you can keep as a unique souvenir. Tonight’s dinner includes the chance to take part in the world-famous Sourtoe Cocktail ritual. (B/D)
Day 6
Dawson City
Begin the day with a guided tour of Dawson City, including a visit to the cabin of famed author Jack London. Continue to the Klondike Gold Fields to see the Discovery Claim and explore the massive Dredge No. 4, an impressive relic of the mining era. At the Midnight Dome viewpoint, take in sweeping views of the Yukon River and its surrounding wilderness. In the evening, step into Diamond Tooth Gertie’s to experience an authentic Gold Rush‑style casino, complete with a lively Can‑Can show and dinner. (B/D)
Day 7
Whitehorse
Today, the group will fly back to Whitehorse. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for your final night in the Yukon. This evening’s farewell dinner offers a wonderful chance to unwind and reminisce about the remarkable experiences you’ve enjoyed throughout your journey. (B/D)
