Colorado Rockies to the Moab Desert
Activity Level: Moderate. Experience ever-changing natural landscapes, thrilling off-road trails and unforgettable starlit evenings on this seven-day Red Rocks tour.
Day 1
Denver – Depart on your flight from Toronto or Winnipeg to Denver. In the evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail reception followed by dinner. (D)
Day 2
Glenwood Springs – Begin your daytime rail journey in the CAA-exclusive SilverLeaf Plus railcar onboard Rocky Mountaineer. Arrive at Glenwood Springs and spend your evening at leisure. (B/L)
Day 3
Moab – Depart Glenwood Springs onboard Rocky Mountaineer. Cross the Colorado-Utah border and take in mountain views and red sandstone landscapes as you approach Moab. Later, enjoy a scenic drive to Dead Horse Point State Park and see the expanse of Canyonlands National Park with the Colorado River 2,000 feet below. (B/D)
Day 4
Moab – This morning, visit Arches National Park for a tour and easy hike. Explore the park’s highlights which include Balanced Rock, The Windows and Delicate Arch Viewpoint. Back in Moab, embark on an unforgettable Jeep tour with a professional driver and experience breathtaking off-road trails and Moab’s famous Slickrock. Afterward, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. As night falls, join local astronomers for a stargazing experience. (B/D)
Day 5
Moab – Spend your day at leisure or consult with your local guide about booking optional activities. Later, drive along the Colorado River to Red Cliffs Lodge. There, enjoy a cocktail reception dinner with live music and dancing followed by a bonfire on the banks of the Colorado River. (B/D)
Day 6
Salt Lake City – Depart Moab and travel north to Salt Lake City, known as “The Crossroads of the West”. Enjoy your evening at leisure in Salt Lake City. (D)
Day 7
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Denver

Glenwood Springs
Board the Rocky Mountaineer for your daytime rail journey on a CAA-exclusive SilverLeaf railcar. All SilverLeaf guests enjoy panoramic views from the glass-domed coaches, gourmet meals and drinks served at your seat and the services of the friendly Rocky Mountaineer Hosts onboard. SilverLeaf Plus gives guests an enhanced experience with exclusive access to a lounge car, where you’ll find an additional dedicated host and a bar where you can enjoy signature hand-crafted cocktails, locally-sourced wine, hand-crafted cocktails and much more. Relax and socialize with other SilverLeaf Plus guests in spacious and comfortable seating inside the lounge car, or soak up the scenery (and sunshine) on the small outdoor viewing platform as you pass stunning sights like Mount Garfield and Ruby Canyon.

Depart Glenwood Springs onboard Rocky Mountaineer. Cross the Colorado-Utah border and take in mountain views and red sandstone landscapes as you approach Moab. Arrive in Moab and meet your local guide before enjoying lunch on your own. Check in to your hotel for a three-night stay. Later, enjoy a scenic drive to Dead Horse Point State Park and see the expanse of Canyonlands National Park with the Colorado River 2,000 feet below. This evening, meet your CAA Host and your CAA travelling companions for dinner. (B/D)
Day 4
Moab
This morning, visit Arches National Park for a tour and easy hike. The unique geology of the area has created the highest concentration of natural arches in the world, with over 2,000 named arches within the park boundaries. Explore park highlights which include Balanced Rock, The Windows and Delicate Arch Viewpoint. Back in Moab, embark on an unforgettable Jeep tour with a professional driver and experience breathtaking off-road trails and Moab’s famous Slickrock. Afterward, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. As night falls, join local astronomers for a stargazing experience. With powerful telescopes, you'll be able to witness planets, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae and other incredible celestial sights. (B/D)
Day 5
Moab
Spend your day at leisure or consult with your local guide about booking optional activities. Later, drive along the Colorado River to Red Cliffs Lodge for an evening of cocktails, appetizers and live music. Afterward, enjoy dinner, more music and dancing followed by a bonfire on the banks of the Colorado River. Return to your hotel in Moab for an overnight stay. (B/D)
Day 6
Salt Lake City
After breakfast, depart Moab and travel north through the heart of Utah. Arrive in Salt Lake City, known as “The Crossroads of the West”. Spend the rest of your day at leisure. (B)
Day 7
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)
